Lost for Words |
March 26, 2009 |
I'm so lost, so shocked for words.. Although, I don't know you but God, you're soo young and reading all these kind words moved me to tears, death on its own brings sadness but God knows best. May your soul rest, rest, rest in the Lord. My condolences to the family, may the peace of God be with you all.

My sister, my friend,
I remember the first time we met at Bladensburg H.S. You were so happy to know I was a Nigerian...lol. You admitted that you wanted more Nigerian friends so you can get back in touch with your African side....lol. From that moment I admired and cherished you in so many ways for so many reasons. You were confident, smart, focused, ambitious, independant. You never let anything or anyone get in the way of what you wanted to do. That is what I love about you. I will never forget you because you touched my heart deeper than you'll ever understand. Always a friend indeed you rose to any occasion, you were always there. You made yourself available and got things done. The memories I have of you can never be erased. God called you and you committed yourself to Him, for that I know I'll see you again. I searched the scriptures for the Word that will remind me of you forever, 2 Sam 1: 23...in life they were loved and gracious, and in death they were not parted. They were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions." That is what you mean in my life. I love you, I love you, I love you... and verse 26b says "Your love for me was wonderful, more wonderful than that of women."
Rest in His Perfect Peace

Cynthia,
I never said Thank You for taking so many of us girls under your wing when we were Freshmen at American. You gave us advice and helped us grow into women. I do apologize for thowing the jelly at you when you talked foul about Michael Jackson that night in the diner, but you understand (reflexes) :)
I will always remember how supportive you were to me and I only wish you knew how much I appreciated and admired you. I look forward to seeing you again one day.

What's your definition of it?
How does it make you feel?
Tell me what you say that truly makes it real
Kings and Queens, Philosophers have tried so hard to find
Tell me what it means to you dear, nevermind
Love is kind when the world is cold
Love stays strong when the fight gets old
Love's a shoulder to lean on
Love is you

Rest in Peace |

Understanding death is almost impossible, especially one that was taken too soon. However, I am comforted in knowing that Adeyinka you lived a Godly life and for that you are being rewarded right now in the Kingdom of Heaven. You spoke truth and authenticity unlike any other person that I know. Your laughter and smile could shine the darkest of clouds. Your contributions were endless and will live on for years to come. To Adeyinka's family: may the healing power of God - our beloved father - cover your sorrows and may God unite your family providing guidance and support through this difficult time. If you need anything, please do not hesitate to reach out. God bless Adeyinka and your family! Miss you Adeyinka!

When you are a minority on a majority campus with someone for four years, you live in the same residence halls, attend the same parties, belong to similar organizations, share friends, laughs, classes, disappointments. In short, their rhythm, their passion becomes familiar, even if the intricacies of their lives does not. Cynthia left an imprint on my heart just because we shared a space for a time, and she always, always brightened it.
I pray that her family, friends, sorority sisters find comfort and peace.
