Hi Bukky,

When Seyi told me of your passing, i had to come and see it for real....I am extremely shocked about your passing.I remember the restaurant that we all went to in frienshipheights.Even though the food was bad we had fun.You are a smart beautiful human being and may your soul rest in peace.

Savannah Winston Sister in Greekdom April 2, 2009

From the moment I heard, I kept telling myself that it could not be true.  I think about you often and remember the chats we have had while planning for this event or activity...working on this task or that task.

You will be missed very much!  Everything you did, you did with such greatness.  Thx for all that you have done for me and the DC NPHC.  It just won't be the same without you.

I find comfort in knowing that you are in a better place.  You are with God now and I thank him for allowing us to know you.

Condolences to family and all friends.

Cynthia

I’ll miss you! I remember me fussing at you for having me waiting at your house in Silver Spring for like two hours while you were ‘chilling’ at your brother’s place. Then you went in the house and aint even wake me up in the car!! Just laughed! You made it up though and we had some good times.

Thanks for praying on the phone with me. Thanks for that support last year. Thanks for helping. Thanks for being cool when I called you on Jan 16th instead of Feb 16th… two years in a row! Thanks for being my friend. Thanks for changing my life.

Blessings, peace, and support to the family.

Norma Bullock Soror April 1, 2009

You were a tireless worker for Delta and you have etched an indelible mark upon the Washington DC Alumnae Chapter.  I remember telling you more than once that I envisioned you as a future President of our Chapter.  You were a leader extraordinare.   I feel blessed to have known and worked alongside you.

Though that vision will not be realized, I take comfort in knowing you have joined other beloved Sorors who have passed into Omega Omega and who now reside at the right hand of the Father.  I rejoice in knowing that you will continue serving amongst the angels.  I love you my Soror.

Yinka,

Last year when I was having one of my "funky" days you gave me something that I now want to give back to you.  You gave me a Thank You card and you wrote the following in it:

Thank you for your selfless service to others daily.  Sometimes you may feel unappreciated but today I want you to know that you have affected and bettered the lives of many.  Your reward may not be seen in this lifetime but know that it's eternal.  Thank you for all you do, noticed and unseen.

I am thankful that GOD allowed our paths to cross.

Jo-Zette Alicia Keys- Superwoman and brownies April 1, 2009
Hey Cynthia,
I remember when we all in the Library "trying" to study and the Library had all these goodies like Red Bull, brownies, cookies etc. There was another time you were falling asleep while we were studying, you were actually waiting for your ride home and you decided to get some work done in the meantime.
I fell in love with Alicia Keys' Superwoman after hearing it on your computer.
Oh yeah, I remember how you sat patiently through Lori's church's really LONG Christmas concert. lol I still havent forgiven Lori for this.
Thanks for the memories my friend.
You will be missed sweetie. You are truly a wonderful person.

Much love
JD

Cynthia

I am glad I had the opportunity to know you, that God saw fit for our paths to cross. I have fond memories of our encounters throughout the years and will always remember our last........  together watching the Inauguration of our 44th President at the Wilson Building.

Aretha Harvey I will always Cherish and Remember March 31, 2009

I remember the exact day I met you...it was my first day of graduate school.  I knew right away that you were going to make sure we were taught stats the right way :)

I'll cherish and never forget:

The time we stood outside of the library for 2 hours in the cold just talking.  I barely knew you then, but I was so comfortable with you.

The time we were playing taboo at game night and your horrible dirty harry impression...lol.

The Thanksgiving day dinner you hosted.  I was away from my family, but you made the season special.

The time you drove me all the way to BWI, used your triple A for me to get my broken down car all the way back to DC, and then drove me back home to the opposite side of town.

Our countless lunches in an effort to get a break from the demands of the Wilson Building.

The awesome spa gift you gave me as a graduation gift.

The passion in your voice and actions when you talked about the glory of God.

I'll never forget you.  I hope your family and friends find comfort in knowing that you are having a praise and worship service with our Lord right now.

It can't be said enough that anyone who crossed your path was blessed to have known you.

What a precious and rare FLOWER... God must have needed you to add to his beautiful bouquet.  Your gentle and loving spirit will be missed.  I am humbled that our paths were allowed to cross.

Until...

Joyce A. Fourth Clemons Soror March 31, 2009

It was something special about you when we first met in Council Member Alexander's office.  And then when I found out that we were sorors, that put the icing on the cake.  It was truly a shock to learn of your death.  I pray that those of us left will carry on the good work you started.  My condolences to your family, co-workers and other sorors.
